The Hunger Games: Peeta Mellark

Cosplay/costume based upon the fictional character "Peeta Mellark" created by Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games." All rights reserved, or whatever; I own nothing.

Please bear in mind that this is my first attempt at cosplay; I know I've got a lot to learn and this probably sucks, but I'll get better at it! ...Hopefully!

Anyway, none of the clothes in the costume were designed and/or created by me, the jacket is the official "Hunger Games Arena Jacket" distributed by NECA (I think), and the shirt and pants were bought at Goodwill and a local Wal-Mart.

The boots, which look closely similar to the ones worn in the movie, are made by Apt. 9. I was hoping to buy the Steve Madden "Banddit" boots, but unfortunately, I'm not made of money.

I'm broke.

For the hair, because my natural hair color is dark brown/black, I used two cans of "Golden Blonde" colored spray paint bought from Sally's Beauty Supply. I'm thoroughly pleased; it covered about 90-95% of my hair totally blonde. The color came out amazingly easy and fast in the shower (thank goodness).

And as for prop that I'm standing on, the "pedestals" as seen and used in the movie was substituted for a sewage drain-thingy. Very professional.

This costume was originally intended for Halloween, but I think I might just wear it to the Catching Fire premiere. If I get the chance, I'll be going up to North Carolina some time in 2013 to take some pictures in Asheville and Henry River, a.k.a. the Arena and District 12!
